Jon has spent time over the Christmas holiday period enjoying PMDG's latest FSX addon, the Boeing 737-800/900 NGX. In summary Jon says "The PMDG 737 NGX is one of those add-ons you need to own. Of course your system will ultimately dictate things but if your a Boeing fan, can afford the $$'s you will not be disappointed with this add-on. The level of detail may be one thing that puts some people off. I know the first time I wanted to fly it took me 30 minutes and a few YouTube videos to figure out how to start the engines (its all in the bleed air you know) and I thought I knew a thing or two. One person summed up flying the 737 NGX as like peeling an onion. I think this is a very accurate description. Every time I fly I learn something new, try and perfect what I got wrong last time and discover what I forgot this time. Its a great challenge and one I'll enjoy for some time to come." 12 4 2012 Singles Released

ZK-OKQ Arrives at NZAA

Jon was at NZAA bright and early this morning to capture these shots of the arrival of ZK-OKQ, Air New Zealand's newest 777-300ER delivered fresh from the factory this morning. In its striking 'All Black' livery, this is a stylish addition to Air New Zealand's long haul fleet.

12 TO CELEBRATE 2012

To celebrate a new year and the revitalisation of the ARNZX website, in the next 48 hours Jon will be releasing 12 new skins for the default FSX 737-800 aircraft. They will be available as separate files and a handy 12 pack. Watch the skies for their release, click each image for a larger version of the picture :).

New Zealand Redefined in FSX - NZSI

In late 2011 orbx released the first part of their New Zealand FTX (Full Terrain eXperience) products for FSX. NZ South: New Zealand South Island. NZSI is a full replacement scenery package that will literally transform the barren desert that was the majority of the default FSX NZ south island scenery into a rich, densely populated and remarkably visually accurate region to fly. Over the coming months we will be releasing aircraft repaints and scenery for NZSI, so watch the skies for these.

Welcome to 2012

Its been nearly 7 months since any new content was added to our site and the reason for this has been further work for the Airways Total Control Simulator. That work has now been completed and were pleased to share a few images of some of the new aircraft and liveries that were included in this most recent body of work.

Virgin Australia - Boeing 737-800

Jon has released a new skin for the default FSX Boeing 737-800 depicting the new Virgin Australia livery. The aircraft painted is VH-YFC ' Bondi Beach '. The skin uses Ezyzapper for installation, manual install instructions are also included. Download HERE.

Captain Sim releases B777-200 External Model

Captain Sim have released a brand new external model, the Boeing 777-200. Like their B-52 release the external model is first to be followed by VC and the 300 and F variants. More details, screenshots and download on the captainsim website here.

Air New Zealand - Crazy About Rugby A320 UPDATE

After a long delay due to the lovely summer here in New Zealand Jon has released not 1 but 2 A320 skins. The first available HERE features the pre-delivery Airbus temporary registration, the second that can be downloaded HERE, has the ZK-OAB registration. Remember, you need the Aerosoft Airbus X aircraft installed to use these skins.

Air New Zealand - Crazy About Rugby A320

Jon has completed his first repaint for the Aerosoft AirbusX featuring the new livery to be worn by Air New Zealand's latest Airbus A320 ZK-OAB. The real world aircraft is currently in test phase and is due for delivery early next year. Of course you will need the Aerosoft Airbus X to use this skin, Jon is working on a version for the default A321 as well as a few other types, both default FSX and payware. We will have details on those as they come to hand. A link to download this skin will be published shortly. DC-3 -Legends of Flight

JustFlight have announced the pending release of their latets FSX only add-on 'DC-3 Legends of Flight'. JustFlight say this DC-3 has been developed exclusively for FSX and provides a selection of superbly detailed and historically accurate airliners in period liveries as well as USAAF C-47 and RAF Dakota transports. Also included is an AC-47 gunship and a flyable WWII Waco glider. If the download or boxed version is ordered before November 30 JustFlight will throw in the DC-3 Expansion pack for free!! ARNZX World Tour Continues

Eddy's Airports Moves - Eddy's Airports is run by Edward Boyte and has undertaken to improve some default New Zealand airports for FSX to make them look realistic by creating AFCADs, photoreal imagery, custom buildings and scenery objects. In many cases these improvements merge seamlesslesly with Tim Barnes VLC add-on or improve the standard FSX scenery for those still using FSX default.
